While the county has shown commitment by planting the seeds to address disparities and racism and made substantial progress, there is still much work to do.
The NAACP Santa Rosa – Sonoma Branch aims to support holistically safer, welcoming, and affirming campuses for all students in Sonoma County.
Given the state of the law, we cannot state with certainty that Deputy Dietrick should have been criminally charged. What we can say, however, is that Sonoma County deserves a more neutral, objective, and thorough analysis of why and how District Attorney Carla Rodriguez reached the decision she did.
The NAACP is calling for international leaders to engage in diplomatic dialogue that addresses the rise in hate across global communities as violence and destruction continue to wreak havoc and claim innocent lives within the Middle East.
